[Q] asus iconia bought from pawn store but...

I bought an asus iconia 16gm 10.1 in screen from ez pawn in waterloo, AI...they sold it to me for real cheap because they said it was password protected (the swipe way) but I invested the $85 thinking I could do a hard reset or something but that did not work after you try 5 times it assumes you forgot the password and asks for ur google info (obviously mine was not correct).There must be some way around this?....perhaps reinstalling android software (i dont know how this is done but I imagine on some kind of sd card with a bootable image) or perhaps I could flash the rom but idk how that would be done either....(I am a noob I apologize)...but a little guidance here would be much appreciated
