[DEV] [APP] [5.0+] Hatchet Debloater v1.0

Hey there XDA....
I'd like to introduce my latest project, Hatchet Debloater...

What It Is
Hatchet Debloater is simply an app that allows a user to freeze/defrost and uninstall any unwanted apps from their ROM/device. This app is intended to make ROM developers' lives a little easier by eliminating the need for Aroma scripts, bloat folders, or other common methods of debloating. With Hatchet, a developer can simply leave all "bloat" in their ROM, add Hatchet, and let the user choose for themselves what they do and don't want, from a friendly, unobtrusive, and intuitive interface.

What It Does
As you know, after flashing a ROM or factory resetting a device, Setup Wizard will run at boot. As soon as Setup Wizard has finished, Hatchet will run automatically and let the user choose whether or not they would like to debloat. If they choose to, they will be presented with a list of all apps installed on the device (including system apps), and will be able to freeze/defrost or completely uninstall whatever they choose. When finished, their device will reboot (or they will be asked to reboot), and Hatchet will disable itself and remove itself from the launcher.

How To Use Hatchet
In order to use Hatchet, a dev simply needs to create a 'Hatchet' folder (without quotes and with permissions rwxr-xr-x) in /system/app, and place the Hatchet apk in that folder (permissions rw-r--r--), and Hatchet will take care of the rest. Due to how it functions, it is very important that Hatchet not be installed or run like a normal app. If installed and opened normally, Hatchet will not work properly, and will try to take over a user's launcher. This is why I'm posting this in a developers only forum.

Requirements
  • Android 5.0 and above. For now anyway; The next release will allow it to be used on Kit-Kat as well.
  • Root access.
  • Busybox binaries pre-installed to either /system/bin or /system/xbin.

Changelog
Code:

10/20/15 --- Initial release.
This is an initial release, and while myself and others have done rather extensive testing, there may still be some bugs or device-specific issues that arise. If you should happen to have any issues or notice any bugs, please let me know, and I'll do my best to fix them in a timely manner. Also, at some point in the future, I will be making this project open source. When I do, I will link to the source here, but for the time being, it will remain closed source.

Thank you for reading,
~Morningstar
