Hi I am currently on stock lollipop 5.1 . I was under the impression that once the device is encrypted with a pin , device protection (kill switch) is activated ie nobody else can access data or erase the phone thus making it useless to a thief. But I can easily access recovery and initiate a full disk wipe if I want to. Then whats the point of device protection and what's going stop a thief from doing that and reusing the phone.
