(Q?)..Swap support through init.d

I am wondering if there is any method with which i can activate swap support as my kernel doesnt support it.
But i have heard that with init.d u can modify kernel settings

Is it possible?
If yes than how?

Any guide or script please
I am on stock ics 4.04 with mtk 6577 based phone and has 512mb ram
